Job Description:

Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, HSE, and Research to improve manufacturing processes and the quality of our products. Maintain and manage the quality system to meet all external and internal requirements.


DUTIES


  • Learn, understand and maintain knowledge of the manufacturing processes used by Weatherford Engineered Chemistry
  • Work with production, engineering, research, product line managers, safety and quality assurance to improve the manufacture of the plant’s products and processes.
  • Ensure that the products and procedures meet the requirements of Weatherford and its customers.
  • Understand and use all computer-based software necessary to maintain and improve the quality system.
  • Manage the quality system by leading or participating in internal and external audits, controlling documents, identifying and recording non-conformances, and developing and implementing preventive and corrective actions
  • Work with corporate and plant management to set, implement and monitor quality goals and policies.
  • Work with plant and research personnel to determine the final disposition of non-conforming or obsolete products.
  • Conduct bench-scale chemical reactions on plant products to improve the quality or function of plant chemicals.
  • Document and communicate opportunities, ideas, results, and issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all procedures and records associated with the quality assurance laboratory.
  • Maintain lab equipment as required for safe and accurate use.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

SKILLS


  • B.S.in a physical science or experience in quality control/quality assurance
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Must possess satisfactory writing skills, laboratory techniques, supervisory skills, and the ability to interact with others.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft office applications
  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry
  • Intelligence, verbal skills, and numerical skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge in chemistry through use of analytical tools
  • Knowledge of chemical processes.
  • Knowledge of quality standards like ISO 9001.
